Broken-Hearted Bracelet

For Tooi's jewelry contest. The theme is Broken Pieces, and optionally, Rejection. I know that something having to do with broken hearts was the obvious choice, but there are so many interesting things you can do with the obvious to make it special!

A glass heart is broken beyond repair. Love, when rejected, makes beautiful dreams fall apart. Perhaps they can never be whole again, but if the memory of happiness is still there, you can always catch a glimpse of its former glory.

(Rotated the correct way and pressed together, this seemingly-normal bracelet can be held together and made into a faux translucent "stained glass" heart, as you can see!)

Created from translucent polymer clay, liquid Kato polyclay, paint/antiquing gel, perfect pearls powder, stretchy clear cording and the rest is obvious. This was an adventure for me since I've never created a clasp-less piece nor one recently which did not use eyepins for the centerpiece, but it turned out rather well, considering. The biggest challenge was making the size of the beads not too big and not too small --- I had to remake them three times. I like the result, but creating it (outside of my head anyway) wasn't particularly fun this time. Live and learn!
